SET to promote 'Bachke Rehnaa' with road show

MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television (SET) India has announced that it will be organising a road show in Mumbai and Delhi to promote its new game show Bachke Rehnaa.

As mentioned earlier the show hosted by Mohnish Behl is the Indian version of Russian Roulette from Columbia Tristar Television. The show which commenced last Monday airs at 8 pm.

The road show will commence in a couple of weeks. It will do the rounds of streets and colleges in the two metros to bring to life the experience and thrill of falling down. Challenges will be thrown to onlookers and prizes will be given.

The channel has tied up with Radio Mirchi for its RJ Hunt contest. It has also put up banners and hoardings in prominent city locations like bus stops, flyovers and at the backs of buses and trains to spread the message. For instance the sign on a bus will say "Ticketless travellers TC se Bachke Rehnaa". A banner next to a crowded shopping mall may warn shoppers "Pickpockets se Bachke Rehnaa".

On hand to explain the strategy at a media briefing announcing the launch of two new SET shows was Uday Sinhwalla of In-House Productions. He said: "It is the most comprehensive game show seen on Indian television with elements of music, tension, drama, fun. With every schedule we have seen more dynamics opening. The reactions to the show have been different. In fact there have been instances where participants have carefully planned their strategy to eliminate the others well in advance of the shoot."

Head of creative SET Saurabh M Vanzara said that with game shows like Bachke Rehnaa and a musical show hosted by Raageshwari Kyuh Kehti Hain Yeh Dhun which is currently in an advanced stage of production, the channel is looking to spice up its programmes.

Tonight's episode of Bachke is a director's special. Vikram Bhatt, Mahesh Manjrekar, E. Niwas and Madhur Bhandarkar will participate.
