LONDON: The BBC scooped over 40 awards at the Promax UK Awards 2002, which were presented in London last weekend.

The industry awards, which honour excellence in broadcast promotions and marketing, comprised 17 Gold; 12 Silver; and 12 Bronze awards for the broadcasting corporation.

The highlights include:

· Gold in the Comedy, Factual, Children's, Sport and Drama categories

· Gold, Silver and Bronze in the Drama and Radio categories

· Silver and Bronze in the Something for Nothing Category, with BBC Wales taking the Gold.

· Six Craft awards, including Best Direction
