• DQE signs licensing deal with ABC for Iron Man and Casper series

    MUMBAI: Hyderabad-based entertainment production and distribution company DQ Entertainment International (DQE) has signed an exclusive licensing deal with Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) for the broadcasting of two animated 3D TV series, Iron Man season 2 and Casper season 2.

    The agreement will allow ABC Australia exclusive broadcasting rights across Australia for both series. Two seasons of Iron Man Armored Adventures have been co-produced by DQE, Marvel Animation and Method Animation, while Casper?s Scare School was co-produced by DQE and Moonscoop, France, along with Classic Media USA.

    The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is Australia?s national public broadcaster that provides television, radio and online services throughout metropolitan and regional Australia, as well as overseas through the Australia Network and Radio Australia.

    DQE Group Chairman & CEO Tapaas Chakravarti said, ?We are very proud to renew our fruitful collaboration with ABC Australia once again for second season of Iron Man and second season of Casper?s Scare School. ABC is the perfect partner for showcasing these high quality iconic properties.?

    MUMBAI: Indian pubcaster Prasar Bharati has entered into an agreement with Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Australia?s national broadcaster, which will allow both entities to show each other?s content to their audiences and also cooperate in other areas of programming.

    The agreement was signed last week when a delegation of senior Prasar Bharati officials visited Australia.

    Australian Minister for Arts and Regional Development Simon Crean, currently in India said the signing of a MoU between ABC and Prasar Bharati will help build a stronger people-to-people and media partnership between the two countries.

    "One of the most important goals for the Australia-India relationship is to understand each other better. The ABC and Prasar Bharati will share program content by utilising the extensive Doordarshan and ABC networks, allowing audiences in India and Australia to develop a more accurate and up-to-date appreciation of contemporary developments in the other country," said Crean after a meeting with Prasar Bharati CEO Jawhar Sircar.

    "This MoU will advance the Australia in the Asian Century White Paper?s commitment to build stronger, deeper and broader cultural links between Australia and India, including through collaboration between our arts, cultural and media organisations," he said.

    The Australian minister said the agreement could also build on Oz Fest, the biggest Australian cultural festival ever staged in India.

    "With over 100 events in 18 cities across India, Oz Fest exposes Indians to contemporary Australia. I am delighted that Doordarshan has supported Oz Fest by filming and broadcasting the Oz Fest opening concert in New Delhi on 16 October and a major concert in Bhubaneswar on 20 October, giving Indian audiences the chance to see some of the Australian best Indigenous performers, Gurrumul Yunupingu and Mark Atkins," Crean said.

    MUMBAI: US broadcaster ABC has announced a new music competition series, ?Duets?.

    Utt has roped in four stars - Kelly Clarkson, Jennifer Nettles, Lionel Richie and Robin Thicke. The new series will debut this summer .

    Clarkson, Nettles, Richie and Thicke will individually set out on a journey across America looking for undiscovered talent worthy of being their prot?g?s. Ultimately, each Superstar will choose two singers to be his/her duet partners. Together the Superstars and their prot?g?s will take the stage each week and perform in front of a live studio audience.

    In the end, only one duet will be at the top of the charts, and the winning amateur will receive a recording contract with Hollywood Records.

    MUMBAI: US broadcaster ABC has announced that for the holiday season it will kick off the game show ?You Deserve It? on 21 November.

    On the six episode show hosted by Chris Harrison and co-hosted by Brooke Burns, contestants aren?t out to win money for themselves but are playing for someone else - someone they feel deserves it.

    Starting with a $10,000 round and going up to a $250,000 round, contestants purchase a series of clues to help them solve the puzzles and win money for their chosen recipient. But each clue will cost them -- and the cost of each clue is randomly selected and won?t be revealed until after it has been purchased.

    The beneficiary, who is in another location under constant hidden-camera surveillance throughout the show, gets the surprise of a lifetime when family, friends, Brooke Burns and a camera crew burst in with life-changing news.
