You know what's the laugh of the century:
Sebi. You know the watchdog of corporate India's fund raising
plans is getting conned by dumbos (or should one say shrewd
blokes) who are coming with IPOs with no serious plans, no
serious model, nothing to report but on paper. Their main
goal is to cash in on the hype around media stocks by singing
a song of expansion and raising funds from the public for
their melodious trilling biz plans. After raising funds they
will manipulate the market along with key brokers and make
money merrily. Each will increase his/her valuation. What
of the public? What will be melody to the close-knit group
of business men and broakers, will be a nightmarish cacophony
for the public as they get knocked out of shape by crazy movements
of the share prices on the BSE.

It seems there is a malicious campaign
to smear Star TV's name. The blackout of Zee Telefilms's Zee
English and Zee Movies happened because of a f$%**up at our
end. The suits decide to exploit the opportunity to hurl muck
on rivals. Mr Murdoch, you had better watch out, you have
got enemies in india. Hee hee hee hee hee...

India - Wednesday, November 24, 1999 at 01:39:37 (PST)
Reportedly the new Chairman of STAR TV
Gareth Chang will be in India to explore possibilities of
further expansion and ways to make some money from the market.
Ironically the community that has been the most lucrative
for STAR TV in Asia (being India)is treated the most unfavourably
and racially by the top notch management of STAR TV. Almost
all of the top management is white in the company and snide
remarks about India and Indians like "brownnies" and jokes
on Indians are the past time of the management. Discrepencies
are plentiful right from paying salaries to an Indian based
in STAR TV to treatment met to him/her in their career progression
within the company. An Indian makes two to three times less
money by way of salary compared to a white person working
at the same level while the load of work given to an Indian
is three times, often without any breaks or holidays. Why
we as Indians tolerate this when it is at our behest that
the company is doing business in India. They should do business
with fair practices or India should not let them stay afloat
in the country. Why is there an absence of an Indian in the
top management team of STAR TV headquarters .... these are
some questions someone should put them in front of Mr. Chang
while he is in India and in the absence of any committed effort
from his side in changing this trend, we as Indians should
black out the services of STAR TV in India.

Guess who loses if Sushma Swaraj wins?
No, apart from the Italian damsel. Rathikant Basu and all
of Star TV. Sushma and Subhash Chandra of Zee are oh-so-close
- and the joint forces behind the continuing legal mess that
the ex-Doordarshan mandarin and his doddering bureaucrats
at Star TV now face. Guess this is one election Star News
will have a more-than-merely-ad-sales interest in!!

Guess what! Zee TV chairman Subhash Chandra
and his former numero uno CEO Vijay Jindal have kissed and
made up. Apparently, Chandra gifted Jindal with his swanky
E220 Mercedes last week. "It's a sure sign that the bad blood
between the two is a thing of the past," says a Zee veteran.
Signs that a patch up between the two was coming were apparent
when Chandra made Jindal a co-promoter of one of his Ebiz
ventures. They had a run-in earlier when Jindal had started
hogging the limelight in the media leaving Chandra in the
shadows.

I hear the MTV ad sales guys for a change
are really getting it in the rear from clients, who thanks
to Channel V propaganda, have now been repositioned as a downmarket
Hindi channel, who should be compared against Zee's Music
Asia, not Newscorp's V. This is forcing MTV's "chillar" rates
down even further as they're trying hard to give a credible
"We're downmarket but not that downmarket" story! Cackle cackle!
