Synopsis: Janam is the story about four girls who lived
in an orphanage, gave each other support, love and made sure
that they grew up into responsible citizen. Their aim is to
give the same kind of support to the other girls who come
to the ashram. The girls, Vasuda, Shilpa, Neha and Sangeeta
have families of their own today. Vasuda is a Doctor who is
unmarried and still lives at the ashram and runs it. Shilpa
is an architect, who is married and has two children. Neha
is a painter who is also married very happily but whose woe
is that she has no children. Sangeeta also flew from the nest
quite early. She is a lawyer today. The girls have grown with
the idea to redefine birth and legitimacy. They consider themselves
and the others born out of wedlock as completely legitimate
children who society cannot look down upon.
