Nicholas Wodtke to lead digital media at Disney-ABC Intl TV, Apac

MUMBAI: Disney-ABC International Television (DAIT) has roped in Nicholas Wodtke as vice president, business strategy & development and new media for the Asia Pacific region.

As part of his new mandate, Wodtke will play the leading role in growing Disney-ABC International Television's digital media strategy and business initiatives in the region. Working across the Disney organisation, Wodtke will help to identify new business opportunities aimed at accelerating growth and building the company's media business across multiple platforms in all markets in Apac. Wodtke will be based in Hong Kong.

States Disney-ABC International Television (Asia Pacific) SVP and MD Rob Gilby,
"We see amazing growth potential and new business opportunities across the region fueled by the rapid evolution of digital technologies. We are aggressively pursuing digital media opportunities and this newly appointed role allows us to rapidly expand our relationships with existing and new partners, while tapping into exciting emerging technologies to deliver the best entertainment experience on whatever platform consumers want."

Prior to this appointment, Nicholas Wodtke was chief executive officer at Snap TV, where he oversaw the development, production and distribution of over 30 interactive game titles across multiple formats including web games, board games, multiplayer online games and TV games.

Says Wodtke, "This is an exciting growth period for Disney in Asia and I am thrilled to be joining the team. Disney's vast portfolio and compelling content combined with the company's focus on driving digital media initiatives are very exciting and I look forward to contributing to the company's growth across all the markets."

Before joining Snap TV, Wodtke was with Sony Pictures Digital Entertainment (SPDE) as SVP - interactive television.
