MUMBAI:
BBC Worldwide has entered into a three-year distribution partnership
deal with Ten Alps, a factual media company.
Under
the terms of the deal, BBC Worldwide's Indie Unit will provide
development investment funding. It will work closely with
the media company to help identify and support international
opportunities within their respective development slates.
In
return, BBC Worldwide will receive an exclusive first-look
deal to distribute commissioned Ten Alps' programmes to broadcasters
around the world via their global network of sales teams.
BBC
Worldwide director content & production Wayne Garvie said,
"Ten Alps' stable provides amazing breadth in documentary,
great programming made by great producers and directors. It's
programming with huge international appeal is a perfect complement
to our existing catalogue."
The
deal includes TV documentary production companies like Brook
Lapping, Blakeway, Below the Radar and Films of Record. These
companies will cover landmark documentary, contemporary history,
current affairs and observational documentary series respectively.
