| MUMBAI:
Samay, the Hindi news channel from the Sahara group, is set to telecast the inaugural
edition of India Youth Icon Awards (IYIA) on 1 October. Videocon is the title
sponsor for the event. An
initiative by Wizcraft and Sahara India, the IYIA Award will be aired at 8 pm.
The
Award is aimed at recognising and rewarding individual excellence and achievement
in different genres that includes business, sports, media, social welfare and
justice, technology, arts, politics and entertainment. Talking about
the association with the India Youth Icon Awards, Videocon Industries president
Pradeep Dhoot said, "Videocon, as a brand today, believes in change. We look
forward to be a part of any form of change that is refreshing, entertaining and
progressing. IYIA is a platform that acknowledges the drivers of change."
The
jury for the awards comprised Kiran Bedi, Shyam Benegal, Paranjoy Guha Thakurta,
Shabana Azmi, Leander Paes and Venugopal Dhoot among others. Winners of the awards
were chosen through online voting. |
