| MUMBAI:
The Indian Premier League (IPL) governing council has asked BCCI president Shashank
Manohar to try and sort out the imbroglio with IMG.
Speaking
briefly to reporters today, BCCI VP Rajiv Shukla says that Manohar has to report
back to the board during its working committee meeting which will take place on
24 September.
Manohar has been given the authority to reopen discussions with IMG. The event
management company's cause has gained momentum with BCCI president Sharad Pawar
writing a letter to Manohar questioning the decision to terminate the contract.
A source says that a renegotiation of the deal is on the cards.
IMG was paid Rs 330 million for the second edition of the event. No doubt the
BCCI will try to play hardball in their discussions. |
