Asianet will telecast the grand finale of 'Mammootty;The best actor award 2009'
and 'Nammude Swantham Mammuukka' in the first week of November. The
event held recently at Dubai graced by luminaries from the Malayalam and Tamil
film industry was witnessed by a 20,000 strong crowd.

Communications director Jagdish Kumar, Tamil star Sarath Kumar, President of Malayalam
Movie Artistes Association, Innocent, Siddique, Jagadeesh, Jagathy Sreekumar and
director Siddique were among the personalities who attended the function. Other
cine stars like Swetha Menon, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Mamukoya, Tini Tom, and Kottayam
Nazeer,Playback Singers in the lines of K.S.Chithra, M.G.Sreekumar, Usha Uthup,
Vijay Yesudas, Rimi Tomy and Vivekananandan entertained the crowd. Ocean Kids
and Kairali Kalakendra from Dubai also presented a few programmes. On
the occasion, Mammootty was felicitated by K. Madhavan, Managing Director, Asianet
Communications Ltd for his outstanding contributions to Indian Film Industry.
While
Kottayam resident Abhishek was declared the best actor award of 2009, Sreekumar
from Thiruvananthapuram was the first runner-up, Mumbai-based Chinnu was declared
second runner-up and Aneesh G. Menon from Malappuram annexed the third runners-up
spot. The
theme of the event that focused on Mammootty's acting career was divided into
six segments like 'Mammootty as Family Hero', 'Evergreen youth Hero', 'The Macho
Hero', 'The Epic Hero', 'Hero with a humour touch' and 'Unusual Hero'. Each segment
was presented by stars of the tinsel world. |
