Sahara One Media and Entertainment Ltd (SOMEL) COO Sanjay Chitale has resigned.
Confirming the
development to Indiantelevision.com, Chitale said, “Yes I have decided to
move on and will be with Sahara till the end of this month.” About
his future plans, Chitale said, "Given my vast international experience,
I will pursue the right opportunity in the media and entertainment sector." Chitale
had joined SOMEL in May 2008 and was managing the corporate affairs of the network
that included three channels - Hindi general entertainment channel Sahara One,
Hindi movie channel Filmy and dubbed Hindi channel Firangi - and the motion pictures
business.
Prior
to joining Sahara One, Chitale, who comes from a finance background, was partner
of Hands on Ventures, LLC for four years. Earlier,
he founded two software companies of which Savant Consulting Group was acquired
by Hands on Ventures in 2002.
