US media conglomerate News Corp has announced that its executive VP, global marketing
and corporate affairs - Gary Ginsberg will be leaving the company at the end of
the year. He will, however, continue as an advisor to the company.

Corp chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch says, Gary has been one of my most
trusted and effective executives over the past decade. He developed and expertly
managed our corporate affairs efforts, spearheaded initiatives that added significant
value to our businesses, and is as well-liked and respected a colleague as any
in our company. As difficult as it was to accept his decision to leave, I am pleased
he has agreed to continue to serve as an advisor." Ginsberg
will remain as a consultant to Murdoch. Ginsberg
joined the company in January 1999 as executive VP for corporate communications,
and over the next 11 years, expanded his portfolio of responsibilities to include
investor relations, corporate social responsibility and global marketing. He was
named to the companys Executive Management Committee in 2000, and in 2007
was named to the seven-member Office of the Chairman. He
says, "It was a difficult decision to leave a company that has been such
a vital part of my life and Ill miss the many talented colleagues who have
helped make this such a thrilling and fascinating ride. But Ive been thinking
about leaving for a while now to pursue something new, and this seemed like the
right time to do it." Following
Ginsbergs departure, News Corp senior VP for corporate communications Teri
Everett will become the new head of corporate communications and corporate social
responsibility. Reed Nolte who is senior VP for investor relations, will assume
the top position in investor relations. |
