MUMBAI: In a view to attract more users in India, Facebook, the global social networking site, has announced the launch of its site in six Indian languages namely Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Punjabi, Malayalam and Telugu.

The Facebook users can only be able to browse different languages, but the transliteration option that enables conversion of English text into other languages is not yet enabled.

According to the results revealed by a research firm comScore, Facebook falls among the second-most popular networking site in India after Orkut.
