MUMBAI: The Indian Premier League (IPL) is not getting any better for Max, although the quality of the matches is gripping. Tam data (C&S4+) shows that the 13 matches played from 26 April -2 May barely managed an average rating of above 4 TVR.

The new average of 4.08 TVR is a fall, considering that the matches played between 18-25 April got an average rating of 4.6. For last year, the average rating was 4.8 TVR.

In the new period, just three matches got a rating of over five. The highest rating was for the Mumbai Indians versus Kolkata Knight Riders which got a rating of 6.09 TVR on 27 April.

The match between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians got a rating of 5.29 on 29 April. Six matches got a rating of below 4, with a couple not crossing 3. The match between Deccan Chargers and Rajasthan Royals, although played on a Saturday, got a rating of 2.82. In fact, none of the matches played early in the evening have touched a rating of 4 TVR.
