MUMBAI: Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment (WBIE), a division of Warner Bros home entertainment group, has partnered with The Saul Zaentz company and New Line Productions for literary and film rights in a bid to develop and publish games based on the Hollywood film The Lord of the Rings.

The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest will be the first game to be developed by WB. The games will be available by the end of this year and can be played on Wii, Nintendo DS, PlayStation2 and Play Station Portable (PSP) game devices.

Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment president Martin Tremblay said, "The Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest is the first of many different types of games we will be developing with the film and literary rights."

As part of the game franchise, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment will publish multiple games across different genres.

"We are looking forward to continuing The Lord of the Rings' legacy with new video games that capture and expand upon elements from the trilogy," said The Saul Zaentz company business affair Fredrica Drotos.

The game is being developed by Headstrong Games and by England-based game development studio TT Fusion.
