Animal Planet to air shows on World Environment day

MUMBAI: Animal Planet will air week-long shows to mark World Environment Day.

Starting from 1 June 2009 at 10 pm, the channel will air programmes such as Saving our Seabirds, Almost Human with Jane Goodall, Ghost of the Ganges and Animals' Guide to Survival.

On 5 June 2009, the channel will air the programmes showcasing the effects of climate on the wildlife and their habitat from 12 noon till midnight.

Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific India SVP and GM Rahul Johri said, "Animal Planet's programme line-up on the World Environment day will present to viewers the catastrophes, reasons causing it and the initiatives undertaken to counter this threat. Animal Planet will also highlight the critical issues and challenges that are threatening the wild life existence."
