| MUMBAI:
British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB) has bid around $ 258 million for Virgin Media's
package of seven digital TV channels. The channels include Living, Living Two,
Bravo, Bravo Two, Challenge, Challenge Jackpot and Virgin1.
The
bid is estimated to be around 60 per cent higher than the rival bidders, as reported
by Financial Times. Others which have bid for the channel include Channel 4, the
RTL group, owner of Five, Time Warner and NBC Universal.
However,
with the recent row between Virgin Media and BSkyB that resulted
in a 20-month break in the availability of channels including
Sky1 and Sky News to Virgin Media's cable TV subscribers.
Finally, both the companies agreed on a carriage deal late
last year.
