MUMBAI: ESPN, a subsidiary of Walt Disney Co, is laying off 100 Connecticut employees this week. These will be from departments including television production and back office jobs.

ESPN chief executive George Bodenheimer had hinted in January that ESPN would be reviewing its operations and would leave 200 jobs vacant.

ESPN has a staff strength of 5,400 people worldwide, including about 3,400 at its Bristol, Conn. campus.
