BBC appoints Montgomery as director-digital content

NEW DELHI: BBC World News has appointed James Montgomery as director of digital content.

Prior to the appointment, Montgomery was editor of FT.com and Financial Times.

 

BBC World News director Sian Kevill said, “Montgomery’s award-winning record for merging high quality editorial, technical development and design flair with commercial success will help us improve our service to international audiences and maximise revenues.”

Montgomery will be responsible for editorial development like international news, sports and weather sites of BBC’s commercially funded news website available outside UK. In addition, he will lead the development of cross-platform commercial content for BBC World News.

 
 

BBC’s international news website is operated by the BBC Global News Division, which includes BBC World Service, BBC World News, BBC Monitoring and the BBC World Service Trust - BBC’s international charity arm.

Montgomery has been with the Financial Times since 1997. He became editor of FT.com in 2006 having previously been the Financial Times’ US news editor.
