MUMBAI:
ESPN Star Sports (ESS), the Asian sports content provider,
has appointed James Miner as the company's senior vice president
for digital media.
Miner
will be based in Singapore and will directly report to ESS
MD Manu Sawhney.
Miner
brings in 17 year of experience in the digital and online
arena. With ESS, Miner will be responsible for development
and commercialisation of ESS' digital business as well as
realising ESS' plans to create a unified media experience
across its digital properties.
Miner will also oversee the development of ESS digital product
offerings and to explore opportunities in the digital space.
Miner
has earlier worked for Group M as head of creative services
APAC and head of social media APAC for three years. Miner
has spent 11 years working in Asia and before joining Group
M, he worked for organisations such as Blue Interactive Marketing,
Scient and Y&R Advertising in Asia, and with About.com,
Prodigy Online, and Sachs Insights while in the US.
In
his early years, Miner has also worked with television companies
such as ABC, NBC News and Discovery Channel in a number of
production roles.
