MUMBAI: Motorola has announced the launch of its new cable headend solution for the European market, progressing its strategy to empower customers as they introduce high definition (HD) content.

Bringing together Motorola's video products, the solution delivers the rate shaping flexibility needed to simplify the deployment of high definition (HD) channels in the cable network especially as cable operators expand their HD services with video on demand (VoD), network digital video recorders or time-shifted TV.

New to the platform is the support for the DVB SimulCrypt conditional access standard, as well as full integration with 'DataMiner', Skyline's multi-vendor network management platform.

"The joint release of new software and equipment for our cable headend solution demonstrates our commitment to addressing the dynamic European market," Motorola VP and GM (network video solutions) Bob Wilson.
