| MUMBAI:
Star Gold, the Hindi movie channel from the Star stable, has rolled out a laughter
momentum with the 'Comedy Honours Movie Festival.' The
month-long festival, which kickstarted on Monday, 25 May, will see comedy movies
airing every Thursday to Sunday at 8 pm. The line up includes films like Haseena
Maan Jayegi, Bhagam Bhag, Chup Chup Ke, Welcome, Namak Halal and Hero No
1.
The
channel claims that the films have been chosen on popularity
basis. "With classic comedies like Bluffmaster, Maan
Gaye Mughal-E-Azaam, Shaadi No.1 and Style taking
over the screens, viewers are bound to experience a mirthful
week filled with excitement," said Star Gold spokesperson
Amita Chhatriya.
Additionally,
the channel will follow up the movie festival with 'Hasi ka Hafta', a week-full
of comic scenes, trivia, snippets and dialogue-based shows culminating to the
grand finale of Comedy Honors 2009. Also,
Laughter Challenge's comic stars Raja and Rancho will entertain the audiences
with a special dedicated segment, 101 Comedy Scenes, in weekends at 10.30
am on Saturdays and 12 noon on Sundays. The
'Comedy Honours' awards will be culminating the month-long comedy extravaganza,
the nominations of which will be based on box-office performance of films. The
date of the on-ground award ceremony is still being worked out but the on-air
award function has been fixed for 27 June. |
