MUMBAI: Cash-crunched Hindi general entertainment channel 9X has got into in-house production. And this is for a 10.30 pm daily show, the second fresh soap content after former Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd CEO Pradeep Guha took charge as consultant for revamping the channel in mid-March.

9X, which owes payment to several production houses, is slowly building up new shows after it blacked out fresh content for almost four months. Bikhray Pal, the new romantic drama based on scattered moments of unrequited love, will start from 25 May and air Monday to Thursday.

The channel is gearing up to launch Fact Miss Teen India - a beauty pageant cum reality series, starting mid June.

Says 9X head of content and programming Vikas Varma, “We are in the process of strengthening the weekday and weekend viewing on the channel, with fresh content. I am convinced that Bikhray Pal, which is developed in-house by the team of 9X, will also receive an encouraging response from viewers just like the other new shows on the channel.”

9X also airs filler shows like Biwi O Biwi, Chandini Raatein and Kuchh Kook Hota Hai, which are produced in-house.

Bikhray Pal is the tale of two emotional individuals who lived a commendable life in an orthodox society. It is the story of their relationship which was such that would never last in the point of view of a common man, but a bond that was just inevitable.
