MUMBAI: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has partnered with Sai Infosystems India, an IT solution provider to launch video telephony (voice-and-video) services on the telecom major's broadband platform in Ahmedabad city of Gujarat.

Announcing the launch Sai Infosystem chairman and MD Sunil Kakkar said video communication has a huge business potential to be tapped. It will improve efficiency, productivity with faster communication.

The wide spectrum of services will include video telephony, video surveillance and integrated mobile advertising.

A range of phone equipment from simple to high-end models will be introduced for enabling this service. The connectivity for the service will be provided by BSNL.

"Voice over IP will provide a long awaited video calling and video conferencing services to the people," said BSNL chairman and MD Kuldeep Goyal.

The launch will be done in a phased manner on BSNL network in other Gujarat cities as well, adds Goyal.
