MUMBAI:
MTV, television production company Fremantlemedia North America
and pop star Justin Timberlake are gearing up to take viewers
on a ride in the new game show The Phone.
The
show premieres on MTV on 21 April. Timberlake is the show's
executive producer.
The six-episode series, the channel claims, simulates what
it would be like for viewers to be dropped into the middle
of an adventure movie.
The
Phone is a game show whose blend of reality and cinematic
action-adventure pulls its participants out of their everyday
lives and thrusts them into a high-stakes labyrinth of engagement,
suspense and intrigue as they race against time for a cash
prize.
Each
week, the lives of four strangers are interrupted by a phone
call where a voice invites them to participate in the game.
If they choose yes by pressing 'one' on their cell phones,
the new contestants begin to trigger into the chance of winning
up to $50,000.
