Following a fresh selection process, the Prasar Bharati board has reinstated the
appointment of Aruna Sharma as Doordarshan Director General (DG). Earlier,
Sharma, a Madhya Pradesh cadre IAS officer and the former National Human Rights
Commission (NHRC) deputy secretary, was appointed for the same post. But this
was challenged in the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) by DD’s deputy
DG Ashok Jailkhani. Now,
the Prasar Bharati board has again chosen her after a fresh selection process,
as mandated by the CAT. |
