MUMBAI: Broadcom Corporation has launched an internet protocol set-top box family (IP-STB) with integrated system-on-a-chip (SoC) solutions. This enables manufacturers to build a range of multi-room IPTV solutions.

Broadcom will display its new high-definition solutions particularly BCM7205, BCM7206 and a SD solution BMC7466 at China Content Broadcasting Network (CCBN). This IPTV chip provides features for mid-range and thin client applications, supporting single or multi-room TV delivery and distribution.

"The IP STB family product enables telecommunications providers to tailor a wide range of services with Broadcom-enabled IPTV platforms. We believe this will enable manufacturers to deliver targeted IP STB solutions in a market that has a diverse set of requirements," says Broadcom's Broadband Communications SVP and GM Dan Marotta.
