Star Plus has proven its top cadre one more time. Its recently launched Yeh
Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is the lead show among the Hindi general entertainment
channels with an average TRP of 6.4 for the week ended 14 March. According
to the latest Tam data (HSM 4+ C&S homes), walking close behind Yeh Rishta
is Star's other show Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai, with an average TRP of 6.3. Meanwhile,
Color's Balika Vadhu, which was enjoying the numero uno spot in the beginning
of March, has slipped down the TRP ladder to clock an average of 5.9. So
what exactly helped Yeh Rishta gallop up the TRP chart so fast? Aired
at 9.30 pm, Yeh Rishta has grown on the back of its one-hour Monday and
Tuesday episodes delivering TVRs of 6.7 and 6.5 respectively. According
to market leader Star Plus (with a 322 GRP for the week ended 14 March), Yeh
Rishta has seen a growth of 16 per cent over the last four-week average. While
the show, across repeats and originals, has contributed approximately 80 GRPs
on the channel this week, it has registered an average TVR of 10 among the female
audiences between the age group of 15-24.
For Colors (with a GRP of 250), Balika Vadhu remained its top rated show
enjoying a peak TVR of 6.6. Colors
also had three new prime time launches. Mere Ghar Aayi Ek Nanhi Pari (Monday-Friday
at 9.30 pm) had an opening week average TVR of 2.3 while Koi Aane Ko Hai
(Friday and Saturday at 10 pm) pocketed 2.8. Na Aana Is Des Laado (Monday
to Thursday at 10.30 pm) launched with 3.5 TVR. The
second season of stand up comedy Chote Miyan Bade Miyan grabbed an average
TVR of 3.4 while Jai Shri Krishna (Monday-Friday at 8.30 pm) clocked 4.4
TVR this week (was 5.2 last week). For Zee (209 GRPs), Choti Bahu
remained its top rated show with an average TVR of 3.5. Dance India Dance
stood steady at an average TVR of 3.1 while Shree notched up a TVR of 2.3.
