MUMBAI: NewsX has entered into a two-year distribution deal with Fifth Avenue Media Services (Fams) wherein the latter will help the channel to distribute and position itself correctly across India.

INX News director-marketing Gautam Mukerjea says, "Indian markets are fertile grounds for entrepreneurs, and we look forward to working with Fams to further strengthen our distribution network and provide strong support to the programming of the channel."

This deal aims to help NewsX reach out to approximately 20 million homes across key markets. Additionally, the channel also plans to take up various trade-marketing initiatives to engage the cable fraternity.

Fams CEO Gaurav Kohli says, "Fams will provide INX News with a customised, effective and efficient-extended network solution. In the backdrop of the current economic situation, distribution becomes the key determinant of a channel's success and survival."

NewsX, which is also focusing on key channel objectives, will adopt a phase-wise approach to reach out to the audiences. Spilt in three phases, the channel will kick-start the first phase of its plan by targeting six metros.

In the second phase, the focus will shift to key 1 million plus markets while the third phase will witness the channel targeting key 0.1 to 1 million markets.
