MUMBAI: MySpace has launched a new functionality for MySpaceID, a product that allows any website to access the MySpace social graph. It enables users to securely link their MySpace profiles with their websites.

MySpaceID has also launched developer access to MySpace user activity streams and an authentication experience for sites across the web as well as a new developer workflow and MySpaceID SDKs.

Says MySpaceID product lead Max Engel, "MySpaceID offers developers and websites a package where they can pick and choose the functionality and features they want to implement on their site. They are all built on open standards which ensure compatibility and provide access to continued community innovation."

MySpace, meanwhile, has rolled out a limited testing of the MySpaceID implementation on the Yahoo! homepage.

"The MySpace App, currently in testing on the new Yahoo! homepage, adds new social functionality into the Yahoo! experience by using MySpaceID to connect Yahoo! users to their MySpace network," said MySpace Open Platform SVP business development and GM Jason Oberfest.
