UTV Movies, the Hindi movie channel from the UTV Global Broadcasting stable, will
now be accessible on DirecTV's WorldDirect International programming service.
As
per the agreement, UTV Movies will be available on DirecTV's HindiDirect I and
HindiDirect II programming packages on channel 2012, part of the WorldDirect programming
platform. The packages are tailored towards Hindi speaking audiences within the
United States. In
order to access the channel, WorldDirect customers will have to subscribe to DirecTV
Basic ($9.99 per month) or any DirecTV base programming package ($29.99 per month). The
DirecTV WorldDirect platform has launched approximately 120 channels across multiple
foreign-languages, including Spanish, Russian, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali,
Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Korean, Polish, Arabic, Portuguese,
and Greek, to emerging ethnic markets throughout the United States. Also
