| MUMBAI:
The Union Home Minister P Chidambaram is set to take a final decision on the security
issues regarding the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday, even as certain states
have put the responsibility on the Union government for making the necessary arrangements.
All the states
that will host the IPL matches have given their nod barring Tamil Nadu (TN) and
Andhra Pradesh (AP). While
TN has outright refused to stage the tourney, AP wants the matches to be postponed
from the scheduled date. The AP government has stated that it cannot provide security
for the high-profile league as per the current Twenty20 schedule drawn in the
state between 13 April and 10 May. |
