MUMBAI:
Zee TV seems to be on an axing spree to drive up its GRP grades.
After
deciding to pull out its low TRP scorer Kasam Se, the
Hindi GEC is now ready for its second pull out with Naaginn.
Come
11 April and Zee TV will have discontinued with Naaginn,
a show that has been surviving on an average TVR of approximately
1.7 (Tam data, C&S 4+, HSM) since the past one month.
According
to AK International founder Aruna Irani and Zee TV programming
head Ajay Bhalwankar, the show, which currently airs from
Friday to Sunday at 9 pm, will undergo a season break.
Says
Irani, "The show will undergo a season break to make
a come back after about three months." AK International
is the producer of the show.
Two
months back, Naaginn was running as a one-hour show.
However, a fall in its ratings forced the channel to reduce
it to a half-hour show. Now, from next week onwards, Naagiin
will be converted into a bi-weekly till the time it goes off
air.
