| MUMBAI:
The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has given the nod to Wayanad Social
Service Society (WSSS), Mananthvady, Kerala, for setting up, maintaining and operating
a community radio station (CRS).
The
CRS is expected to be operational within three months, as per the agreement. WSSS
was established in 1974 to conduct, manage, promote the social welfare centre,
technical schools and hospitals to give practical and technical knowledge to people
and to conduct cooperative societies.
With
this, the total number of CRS operated by educational institutions
and non-governmental bodies has risen to almost 120 which
includes State Agricultural Institutions and Krishi Vigyan
Kendras (KVKs).
