DTL to go on 'A Royal Journey' on 27 June

MUMBAI: Discovery Travel and Living (DTL) will air Royal Journey on 27 June at 8 pm.

In the one-hour programme, viewers will board the luxury train, Royal Rajasthan on Wheels, operated by Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC) and travel the entire length and breadth of Rajasthan.

Travelling with splendour, the programme will highlight the ambience within the environs of the train uncovering the state’s mystic aura.

Viewers will discover some of the most exotic and royal locations through air-conditioned coaches taking them through latticed havelis and mansions. They will embark on the journey of a lifetime as they board the train from Delhi’s Safdarjung Railway Station.

Transversing through Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Bharatpur and Agra before ending its journey in Delhi after eight days, the programme will provide a taste of luxury as experienced by the Maharajas themselves.

Exuding the royal touch, the train is fitted with all modern facilities and provides luxurious accommodation. The luxury train is well equipped with deluxe saloons done up in rich silk, exquisite cutlery, splendid bar, majestic bathrooms, internet, wi-fi system and international spa facilities.

Swarn Mahal (shining with gold and brass) and Sheesh Mahal (shimmering with crystal and mirrors), two restro-lounges, offer a culinary treat ranging from Indian delicacies to Chinese and Continental fare, all served on specially designed crockery.

The fully-equipped bar on the train serves selected brands of wines and liqueur.
