Sun TV crosses Rs 10 bn turnover, Q4 net up 24.7% to Rs 1.1 bn

MUMBAI: Sun TV Network Ltd. has posted a revenue of Rs 10.39 billion for the fiscal ended 31 March 2009, an important milestone for a regional broadcaster.

Income from operations for the corresponding period of the previous year was Rs 8.70 billion, signifying a 19.48 per cent year-on-year jump.

Consolidated net profit jumped 12.75 per cent to Rs 3.68 billion in FY'09. Expenses stood at Rs 5.23 billion, up 32 per cent from previous fiscal’s Rs 3.96 billion.

For the fourth quarter of FY ’09, net profit stood at Rs 1.14 billion, up by 24.66 per cent (Rs 914.5 million in FY'08). Total income of the company grew by 10.14 per cent to Rs 2.92 billion, compared to Rs 2.65 billion a year ago. Ebita (Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization) grew by 39.71 per cent to Rs 2.2 5 billion, as compared to Rs 1.61 billion in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
