US media conglomerate News Corporation has annonced that Rebekah Wade is their
News International CEO.
In her new role, Wade will assume responsibility for the day-to-day operations
of News International covering all five titles, The Sun, The Times,
The Sunday Times, News of the World and thelondonpaper.
Wade
will continue to report to News Corporation chairman and CEO Europe and Asia James
Murdoch who will additionally become News International executive chairman. Both
appointments will be effective n 1 September. Wade
has been Editor of UK newspaper The Sun for over six years. Prior to that,
she spent three years as editor of the Sunday tabloid, News of the World.
A new Editor of The Sun will be announced later.
James Murdoch said, Rebekah combines enormous editorial talent with commercial
