English entertainment channel Zee Café is set to launch a new five-episodic
reality game show, Café Mic Testing, in July. Through
the show, the channel will hunt for Zee Café’s next voice-over artiste.
Hosted by VJ
and former Miss India Sarah Jane Dias, Café Mic Testing will put
the aspiring voice-over artistes through a battery of fun tasks that will test
their creative vocal abilities.
The
game show will follow an elimination pattern to select the one voice to be the
“voice of the channel”, across all on-air promos. The
judges for the show include Radio One RJ Malini, voice-over artiste Mona Ghosh
and Association of Voice Artistes president Ankur Zaveri. The winner stands to
win Rs 100,000 from the channel. Says
Zee Café business head Sujay Kutty, “The hunt for a fresh new voice
that will lend itself to all our on-air promos is an interesting way to involve
our viewers in shaping the channel themselves. In fact, the process of selecting
the best voice-over artiste is so much fun that we decided to showcase it as a
game show on air.” |
