BSNL to set up six Wi-max stations in Orissa

MUMBAI: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) will be setting up six Wi-Max (wireless broadband stations) in Berhampur district, Orissa.

These stations would be set up in Mohana and Kasinagar in Gajapati district and in Digapahandi, Buguda, Jagannath Prasad and Polasara in Ganjam district.

 

The district plans to introduce EVDO System (evolution data only) or wireless data cards in Gajapati district during the current year.

This service will be helpful to students as a number of technical institutes are located in and around Berhampur district.

 
 

The Berhampur district has around 3,176 broadband connections while around 7,500 more connections are due to be provided during the 2009-10 period.
