BBC Worldwide is set to launch BBC America high-definition (HD) on 20 July. The
BBC America high-definition (HD) will kick off with a week of sci-fi US premieres.
"The
launch of BBC America HD coupled with the existing VoD channel, BBC America on-demand,
expands opportunity for viewers and distributors to access British entertainment,"
says BBC Worldwide America president Garth Ancier. Starting
20 July at 9 pm, Torchwood: Children of Earth will launch as the first
of BBC America's HD offerings. The series will air over five consecutive nights.
On 25 July at 8 pm the monster series Primeval will conclude its third
season in HD format. Being
Human, the BBC American co-production will premiere in HD on 25 July at 9
pm while on 26 July at 8 pm, the first of the last four Doctor Who specials
-Doctor Who: Planet of the Dead will be aired. |
