| MUMBAI:
Zee Network is increasing its focus in the southern region as two of its general
entertainment channels are turning operationally profitable in a turf which has
been historically difficult for the group to step in with authority and sustainability.
In
a top-rung restructuring, Zee will have a chief operating officer for its south-language
channels. As part of that plan, the network has elevated Zee Telugu chief executive
officer Sanjay Reddy to this newly-created post. The channels falling under his
ambit include Zee Telugu, Zee Tamil, Zee Kannada and Zee 24 Gantalu.
The
restructuring exercise also includes the joining of Prem Menon
as Zee Tamil business head. J Shekar and Anuradha Gudur have
been designated as business heads of Zee Kannada and Zee Telugu
respectively while L Sivananda has taken over as the finance
head for Zee's southern operations.
