MUMBAI: Star India has rolled out Star Player, an online video service, in a bid to offer full-length content of Star networks' television shows and original content on a single platform.

The network will add around six hours of programming everyday to the portal. To access the player, users don't require any software downloads. The videos played are supported by search mechanisms and a host of social networking options.

Says Star India SVP new media & IT Gurtej Sandhu, "Viewers can select the category of their choice -soaps, reality, music, news and lifestyle. Also, viewers can filter channels by title, choose-to-see clips, full-length episodes or movies, or look at what's new or most popular on the site."
