Radio City 91.1 FM unveils lineup to celebrate Sankranti

NEW DELHI: Radio City 91.1 FM has unveiled its programming line-up to celebrate Makar Sankranti.

As a part of the line up, the Mumbai station will organise Patang awards with radio jockey Vicky on Radio City Joyride. The award has five categories and listeners can choose from three options in each category to win kite sets.

Radio City Delhi will play Punjabi songs all through the day. It will also have celebrities like Daler Mehendi joining RJ Simran on Whatte Fun Mornings followed by singers like Mika and Jaspinder Nirula on Double Dose.

RJ Charu will visit homes of listeners in the evening for live broadcasts of the celebrations on 'Retro Café' with RJ Ved.

Radio City Bangalore will celebrate the Harvest festival with the Aiyyapa Special on Shubhodhaya from 4-6 am. Later actor Upendra will join RJs Pradeep and Varsha on Whatte Fun Mornings and will share his plans for the day with listeners.

Also, Radio City Bangalore team will relay live updates from Gavi Gangadhareshawara temple with ellu bella kabbau. Finally, actor Sudeep will chat with RJ Vinayak on 'City Maathu'.

Hyderabad will celebrate the festival with discussions on the relevance of 'Bogi'. On Sankranti day, RJs will discuss 'pedda panduga' and visit listener's homes. The listeners will also get a chance to fly kites with radio jockeys. Lastly, the station will also conduct a Rangoli competition.

Ahmedabad Radio City 91.1FM will celebrate 'Uttarayan' with 'Chhat par patang' while in Pune the radio station plans to celebrate the festival with 'Til gud khaa ani God God bola'.

Furthermore, the Chennai station will organise Pongalo Pongal contest on Alli Durbar where RJ Aarthi will select four lucky listeners who will share the best Pongal recipes. In addition the station will capture Chennai's family time-out through live on-air updates from Chennai's various popular hangouts.
