MUMBAI:
Star Plus' bet on an infotainment show Aap Ki Kachehri
with Kiran Bedi as the presenter seems to be paying off. Replacing
the popular long-running soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu
Thi in the weekdays at 10.30 pm, Aap Ki Kachehri
will see an extended run of 52 more episodes.
According to the latest Tam data, the show is notching ratings
above a TVR of 3.
Star
Plus claims Aap Ki Kachehri, which was launched on
1 December, has 47 per cent viewership coming from male audiences.
Says
Star Plus EVP and GM Keertan Adyanthaya, "The response
from the viewers reaffirms that the channel can act as a harbinger
of social change through its content. At the time of launch
of Aap Ki Kachehri Kiran Ke Saath, we went against
the established 'norms' of what kind of show would work at
this slot. We are happy to say that our phone lines have not
stopped ringing with people hoping that Kiran Bedi will be
able to resolve their disputes - this along with the rising
TRPs is proof that Star Plus has presented exactly the kind
of show viewers were waiting for."
Aap
Ki Kachehri features real people, cases and situations
with an aim to educate and entertain. It gets disputing parties
on the small screen to discuss their issues, examine probable
solutions and solve matters amicably, while educating viewers
on the legal aspects of such situations.
