DELHI: ESPN STAR Sports is set to telecast FIFA World Player
Gala 2008 live from Zurich on 13 January, 2009 at 12:30 am.
The
repeat telecast will be at 9:30 pm.
The
Awards will witness participation of five men and women footballers as opposed
to three players from each category as seen in the previous years. The nominees
in the men's category include Kaká (Brazil), Lionel Messi (Argentina),
Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal), Fernando Torres (Spain), and Xavi (Spain), while
Nadine Angerer (Germany), Cristiane (Brazil), Marta (Brazil), Birgit Prinz (Germany)
and Kelly Smith (England) will contest the women's award. |
