CN celebrates ‘Powerpuff’ anniversary with 30-minute special

MUMBAI: Cartoon Network will air a 30-minute special called The Powerpuff Girls Rule!!! on 19 January at 8 pm to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the The Powerpuff Girls.

The episode has been written and directed by creator Craig McCracken and produced at Cartoon Network Studios by the team that is currently producing Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.

The network will also run a 14-hour marathon on 19 January leading up to the original special’s premiere.

“What started as a clever seven-minute student film, The Powerpuff Girls helped establish Cartoon Network as a creative force around the world. Today, Cartoon Network celebrates 10 years of the now-iconic brand and the brilliance of Craig McCracken, who continues to bring us the classic cartoons of tomorrow,” said Cartoon Network chief content officer Rob Sorcher in a statement.
