MUMBAI:
Zee TV, which is fighting to regain its second position after
losing it to Colors, is launching a prime time crime show
with a lady cop as protagonist.
The
weekend show - Monica Mogre case files - will be aired
every Saturday-Sunday at 8.30 pm.
Produced
by Beyond Dreams Production, the show will replace Tata Indicom
Chota Packet Bada Dhamaka. It will showcase a series of case
files with every story lasting for about 10-12 episodes.
The
channel says the show will mirror the anxiety of women who
are subject to ill treatment by the miscreants of society.
The show will also highlight the contribution of the police
force, the crime branch and the homicidal department.
Zee
TV business head Tarun Mehra said, "With Monica Mogre Case Files, it is our
endeavor to make every woman aware of her susceptibility to eminent danger in
the face of evil forces. Along with that we are also suggesting some recommendations
for a safer life ahead." The channel has lined up Mahesh Manjrekar
as the negative lead in the first series followed by Jimmy Shergill in the next.
It also claims of a "solid line up of negative characters to give the required
impetus to storylines."
The character of Monica Mogre is being portrayed by Parakh
Madan along with Abhijit Satam, who plays the male lead.
