NEW DELHI: Doordarshan has made special arrangements to telecast live the 60th Republic Day Parade on 26 January at Rajpath.

The Delhi Kendra of Doordarshan will be using 19 high-tech cameras including four robotic cameras for the coverage, which will commence from 9.25 am on Republic Day.

For the first time, Doordarshan will use the Jimmy Zip (crane) equipped with remote controlled camera on Rajpath.

With a force of about 100 technicians, Doordarshan will telecast the parade live from three spots: Rajpath, India Gate and Rafi Marg.

Later the same day, Doordarshan will also carry reports of the parades held in various state capitals all over the country.

Earlier on 25 January, President Pratibha Devisingh Patil will address the nation in Hindi and English from 7 pm on Doordarshan. After the telecast of the address, regional kendras will telecast translations of the President’s address in regional languages.
