Kolkata Knight Rider, the Kolkata franchise of Indian Premiere League (IPL), has
put its notorious Pakistani pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar up on sale during the transfer
window. During
the month-long transfer window, the eight teams can trade players among each other
before submitting a final list by 22 January. KKR
coach John Buchanan announced in Kolkata, “Shoaib is up for trade. We don’t
have room for both Umar Gul and Shoaib in the pace department.”
Shah
Rukh Khan, the owner of KKR team, had purchased Akhtar for
$425,000. However, Akhtar played just three matches out of
14 in the inaugural edition of the IPL.
