MUMBAI:
Nilanjana Purkayastha has joined BAG Films and Media Ltd as
business head of GEC programming.
Purkayastha
moves in from Sahara One Media and Entertainment as the business
head of its Hindi general entertainment channel (GEC) Sahara
One, before quitting on 1 December.
Purkayastha
will be working closely with BAG Films and Media CMD Anurradha
Prasad and the core team of the company in identifying business
vision strategy, and strategizing to achieve long term and
short term goals in GEC programming, the company said in a
release.
During
her stint at Sahara One, Purkayastha has contributed in launching
shows like Mata Ki Chowki and Saas vs. Bahu that
achieved the best opening ratings. She also had a short spell
at NDTV Imagine, where she was part of the founding team that
decided programming and production of the channel.
Purkayastha
also had served in Star Plus for six years.
